This enables us to develop specific vinification methods for each grape variety and to acquire the subtle art of assemblage that intensifies the characteristics of our wines.

Pioneers in Mediterranean viticulture

Twenty five centuries ago, when the Greeks and Romans colonized France, they began planting grapevines in our region. Genuine pioneers committed to forging ahead together, the wine growers of Limoux joined together in 1946 to form the Sieur d’Arques group.

Fired by the same passion for excellence, we have been able to combine our skills with the most efficient methods to optimise our selection au terroir. This quality selection process is based on the fundamental principle of the wine variety-terroir pairing, rigorous, cultivation practices and a vineyard quality charter bearing the signatures of our 500 wine growers. The selection au terroir process, introduced a quarter of a century ago, together with our commitment to reasoned management methods have made the Vignerons du Sieur d’Arques veritable pioneers. This puts us up there among the best, turning the Limoux appellations into the excellence of Languedoc.
